Never heard of Nusa Lembongan??, ok well now you have because Iโm gonna tell you why you NEED to go here if you are traveling to Bali anytime soon! Many people travel to Bali and just stay there, which I completely get! Iโve been to Bali 3 times! But for a bit of a slower pace time, amazing beaches, incredible cafes/restaurantsโฆplease I beg youโฆgo to Nusa Lembongan! ๐๏ธ
I went with my friend Allison in June 2023! So here is our quick trip and experience to the island!

First off, closest airport would be to fly into Bali. (I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, DPS) โ๏ธ
Stay in Bali a few days and enjoy the tropical splendor! ๐ด Or just go straight to Sanur Port. This will take around 45 minutes, but the traffic in Bali can be brutal. So I would definitely leave plenty of time for travel time to the port! ๐ค
We got tickets for our ferry through the speedboat service Optasal. They offer an array of speed boat times and they head Mushroom Bay or Jungubatu. We got ours to Mushroom Bay as our hotel on Lembongan was super close. You can buy ahead of time or right there in the port like we did. ๐ซ
They also offer speed boats to Nusa Penida! If you are in the area, most likely youโll be visiting Penida as itโs quite the tourist attraction.

Speed boats from Sanur to Lembongan was about 30ish minutes. And it was quite smooth. We had a terrible experience in Thailand with a speedboat so we were a bit aprehensive, ๐ตโ๐ซ but no worries. The weather was good this day! The sea was on our side. ๐๐ค
Now youโll arrive right on the beach when you get there. So wear flip flops or easy shoes to take on and off! ๐ฉด

Thereโll be lots of guys offering taxis once you get to shore. We took up an offer with one guy and he helped us lug our luggage thru the sand. The taxis here are all open aired trucks not your typical cars. ๐ป
The roads here are very bumpy and some seem like the most random side roads going into the bush but thatโs how it is here on the island! ๐๏ธ
In 10 minutes we had arrived at our hotel. The cutest Paus Patih Hotel which translates to โwhite whaleโ ๐ณ

It was the most adorable little sea cottages! All right by the ocean. Thereโs a small cafe/restaurant, pool, laundry service, and they can help with excursions that leave from right on the water. (We booked a Nusa Penida tour with them)

The rooms were simple and quaint. Thereโs no tv. We had 2 twin beds. A small closet area and bathroom/shower.
While youโre on the island I absolutely recommend going to โOhanaโsโ for dinner. Itโs best you make a reservation and go for the sunset. Because wow, it was magical. I feel like a lot of people hyped up Ohanaโs with the best food theyโve hadโฆand I fully agree!!! After a while traveling and trying the local foods we were yearning for a cheeseburger ๐ and we also got the best pesto pasta Iโve had! It was divine and we devoured it!

We were also supposed to head to โThe Deckโ for dinner one night, but got side tracked by the area. It was all so beautiful. Lots of great restaurants right on the beach to take in the views.

We didnโt have much time on the island. But wow, it left such a lasting impression! If I ever head back to Bali I think I would stay here instead of the main island.

Obviously when coming to this side of the world, Bali especially, Nusa Penida has to be on your list to visit! We did visit! But that deserves a blog on its own!
Termia kasih for reading! ๐๐ผ
Now brb, working on my Nusa Penida blog! Coming up soon! ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป
